The healing power of creative expression

Therapeutic art is using the power of creativity to express and transform yourself. Are you stuck, feeling down, or lost? Are you in a good place and want to clarify your focus? However you are, therapeutic art can help you create a space of well-being so you can be a better you.

There is no skill requirement to practice therapeutic art. All you need is an open mind and willingness to try. This form of art uses all kinds of tools from pen and paper to magazine cutouts. The tools and materials are all easily accessible and affordable.

Self-discovery

Therapeutic art may help to peel back layers in your mind to recognize feelings, thoughts, ideas you may not have realize you have. Working with your inner self can bring on self-growth and inner strength.

Gain confidence

In our non-judgemental space, you can explore your creative expression. You will have support. You will have a space to be heard, seen, and understood. You can gain confidence by just creating and seeing progress in your art.

Build connections

With our workshops, you get to work on your individual project but in a group setting. Everyone is all working towards the same goal. We are a judgement-free, diverse, and welcoming group which is a great recipe for making new friends and building connections.

Explore creativity

There is no right or wrong with therapeutic art. It’s a tool that can be playful and fun. You get to explore your own creativity at your own pace.

Self-expression

Feelings can be complex and hard to describe to someone else. Maybe your feelings are too jumbled up to even make sense. With therapeutic art, you may gain clarity and be able to reveal and understand those emotions. You may even feel like with your art you can share your feelings more easily.

Long lasting tools

Your problems might change as you move into different phases of your life but you will always have the techniques and tools from therapeutic art that you can use for any stage of your life.

Empowering Teens

What is therapeutic art?

Therapeutic Art is the practice of using art to help your mental well being. If you feel down, anxious, stuck, or even if you feel good, therapeutic art is an outlet to discover yourself, and express your feelings.

What are the benefits of therapeutic art?

Therapeutic Art is for anyone and can be done with simple and inexpensive materials. It is easily accessible and easy for anyone to learn. It is a useful tool that can be used throughout your lifetime to maintain your mental health or just for entertainment.

Fun workshops

We have workshops that are easy, fun, and created to address mental concerns for teens. The workshops are meant to help learn techniques and tools to help improve mental health. At the same time, we get to have an opportunity to find a community by making connections with like-minded people.

Your workshop instructor

Ellie is currently a sophomore at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, CA. She aspires to help people of all types with challenging mental issues and bettering themselves. Since the time she could hold a pencil at the age of two, she has been drawing on traditional mediums and digitally.

Ellie has combined her two loves (psychology and art) as she explored her own personal issues. Now she wants to share the tools she has learned to help others through therapeutic arts.
